Jason McDonald – Author Extraordinaire
I am an American author of multiple novels and am a writer in every sense of the word. Stories have been my life. A voracious reader since I could pick up a book, writing has been a passion to take an idea and turn into something magical. With influences from classical literature to bestselling fiction, I was exposed to a variety of voices, styles, and subjects that cemented my passion.
An author was born.
My first novel Maniacal was a suspenseful thriller crafted sitting at a local favorite café, with pen and paper and writing it all out longhand. Its sequel No Loose Ends was constructed in a similar fashion, coffee sitting beside my notebook as I took the story and spun the tale. The third book in the trilogy, The Killing Timeline faced a similar creation as well, until the full and complete imaginative novel that I envisioned from beginning to end, was broken out into three full books. The excitement in accomplishing such a feat fueled my being for a long time.
More books materialized. Fanciful escapes writing children’s books are even in the repertoire, so a few of my endeavors fall into the categories of exciting journeys through different lands and times geared toward younger audiences. Staying in one lane has never appealed to me. I write what I feel. Pen what I know. Take my imagination and let it loose. So whether children’s books, historical fiction, the occasional romantic setting, and the bulk of my novels in suspenseful thrillers, my work spans different genres. Why not?
I have done a lot, and then the world changed.
Covid-19 and the ensuing pandemic inspired my latest novel Pandemic-19. I finally decided that I have spent so much time as an author I might as well put both feet into it and publish all my works. A wonderful road lies ahead.
